Traditional hand-held sharpening, considered by many knife enthusiasts as the best method of sharpening, requires experience, willingness and patience, for which most of us do not find the time or desire.

For those looking for simpler and equally effective sharpening methods, Lansky has designed the Lansky Masters Edge Deluxe.

Building

The construction of the sharpener is very simple, it consists of a polymer base with holes with different angles of inclination and a set of ceramic sharpening rods.

The user can independently decide on the selection of the sharpening angle, based on his own preferences, the purpose of the knife or the specification provided by the manufacturer.

After placing the bars of the same gradation in the holes, a V-type (two-sided) sharpening system is created with a constant sharpening angle. This allows you to maintain control over the grinding process, thus affecting its correctness and quality of sharpening.

Safety at work is ensured by a folding guard that protects the hand (holding the base) from injury in the event of the blade slipping outside the bars.

The polymer base also acts as a transport container, allowing you to safely carry all the elements of the set in one place. The lower part of the base is rubberized, so the sharpener does not move during sharpening.

After packing, the set weighs 450 g and takes up little space, so fans of survival and bushcraft can also use it in field conditions.

Sharpening angles

Depending on the type and purpose of the knife, the cutting edge may have a different angle, affecting the strength and cutting parameters. The Lansky Masters Edge Deluxe sharpener offers 3 angle settings most commonly used by knife manufacturers.

•     17 ° - filleting knives, kitchen knives, precision cutting tools,
•     20 ° - kitchen knives, pocket knives, small edc folders,
•     25 ° - large edc folders, hunting and outdoor knives.

Sharpening

The set includes a total of 5 ceramic rods:

•     2 with the gradation of the medium for giving the working sharpness,
•     2 with extra fine gradation for polishing or quick sharpening
•     1 triangular bar with medium gradation, intended for sharpening serrated edges.

White bars with a gradation of 1000 - we use at the last stage of the sharpening process to polish the edge and give it the final sharpness.
Gray bars with gradation 800- are used to give the working sharpness and quick sharpening
Gray triangular rod with grade 800 - is designed for sharpening all types of cloves, awls and fishing hooks.

The rods are 230 mm long, so we can also conveniently sharpen large kitchen and survival knives.
