Folding Knife Kershaw Blur 1670S30V
Description
TheKershaw Blur 1670S30V is a versatile everyday knife that features an S30V powder steel blade, a blade deployment assist mechanism and anodized aluminum liners.
Lightweight and handy design
TheKershaw Blur is a very handy folding knife, which is designed for everyday carry and versatile use. The purpose of the knife is best accentuated by its optimal size, functional style and proven technical solutions.
The 76 mm long blade is made of American CPM-S30V stainless steel. Crucible Industries' S30V powder steel is hardened to an optimal hardness of 58-60 HRC, so it maintains high sharpness for a long time, has high mechanical strength, and is also resistant to corrosion.
Due to its high vanadium carbide content, the steel is distinguished by its high impact and wear resistance, as well as its excellent cutting properties. Therefore, due to the high hardenability and the nature of CPM-S30V steel, we recommend using diamond whetstones for sharpening.
Thanks to the concave grind and the cutting edge with a distinctly rounded belly, the knife has excellent cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material. The blade is finished using the stonewashed (pebble bath) method, which does a good job of masking scratches from use.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The blade can be conveniently unfolded with one hand using a double-sided peg, so that after removing it from the pocket the knife is instantly ready for work.
This solution is convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allows comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Blade lock
When the blade is unfolded, it is securely locked with a liner-lock mechanism. The steel locking bar provides a high level of security, and its operation is very intuitive and convenient. A reliable lock is an important element calling for the functionality and safety of the folding knife.
Convertible clip
Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by a contoured clip with mounting options on both sides of the handle. Next to the clip is a hole designed for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
Trac-Tec aluminum liners
The knife's handle is formed by liners made of lightweight and durable 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, which are attached to steel liners, responsible for the rigidity and strength of the structure. An element of the handle that significantly affects the comfort of the knife is the Trac-Tec inserts.
The non-slip texture of the plastic provides excellent grip on the knife and prevents it from slipping from the hand. The anodized coating with a camouflage motif is resistant to fading, scratching and abrasion, which guarantees the attractive appearance of the knife for a long time.
