One of the key advantages of Leupold Patrol scopes is their light weight. At 273 mm long, the scope weighs just 380 g, making it one of the lightest in its optics class. The scope has an aluminum (6061-T6) 30 mm diameter tube, which, unlike the 1-inch version, provides a much wider reticle adjustment range - 170 MOA vertically and horizontally. The eyepiece features a ring with an enlarged grip for fast and convenient magnification changes within the 1-6x range.

The scope tube is filled with a patented gas blend (argon and krypton), which eliminates the effects of thermal shock, reduces gas diffusion inside the scope, and completely eliminates internal lens fogging issues. The waterproofing used guarantees 100% resistance to weather conditions. The scope was rigorously tested on the Punisher simulation device, undergoing 5,000 recoil endurance tests. The device generates impacts with energy 3 times greater than the recoil of a .308 caliber rifle, so the scope can be used with confidence on sporting and hunting firearms.

Leupold scope for hunters and sport shooters

American manufacturer Leupold pays special attention to image quality and brightness. The optical system uses high-quality lenses and the Twilight Light Max management system, responsible for high light transmission and reduced stray light.

The visible image is sharp and clear edge-to-edge, as well as deep, allowing the scope to be used for hunting at dawn and dusk (adding about 30 minutes of usable light). High-quality lenses increase the transmission of blue and red light and balance colors for maximum contrast. Glare is compensated for by special mechanical structures and blackened lens edges. The CM-R2 reticle is designed for instinctive, dynamic shooting at short distances, where lower magnification is sufficient. Compared to other reticles, the CM-R2 allows the shooter to estimate distance to the target and shoot more flexibly. The CM-R2 reticle consists of a fine crosshair with an open top and a central 0.5 MOA dot surrounded by a 5.0 MOA circle. With its open top and illuminated aiming point, the reticle excellently combines precision and speed. Clear marks on the horizontal stadia lines can be used to track targets moving at 5, 10, and 15 mph respectively. This unique combination of features allows the scope to be used for shooting in open terrain, in forests, and on IPSC courses.

The illuminated aiming mark (circle and dot) automatically draws the shooter's eye to the center of the reticle, making aiming fast and instinctive. Illumination (7 levels) is adjusted via a side-mounted button. The first 3 settings are for low-light conditions, the rest for daylight. The adjustment range allows for comfortable use regardless of lighting and time of day.

Locking turrets with quick rezero system

The scope uses a practical Pop-Up Rezero system (activated by pressing a button), which protects against accidental setting changes and allows an instant return to the original settings without additional tools. Zero Lock system eliminates the possibility of accidentally changing elevation settings and allows a quick and precise return to zero. Turrets adjust in 1/4 MOA increments. The reticle adjustment range is 170 MOA vertically and horizontally.

CDS system

The scope features the innovative CDS (Custom Dial System), which allows the shooter to customize the elevation turret to match the specific ammunition's ballistics and distance. CDS-ZL2 is a low-profile adjustment turret that protects against accidental setting changes. The Zero Lock system allows settings to be easily restored with the push of a button. Once properly configured, CDS enables precise, repeatable long-range shooting after a short amount of practice, without needing a ballistic chart.
