Filter Sawyer Mini SP105 - Black

The Sawyer Mini SP105 is an ultra-light personal water filtration system with a capacity of 370,000 litres, featuring an advanced 0.1-micron filter that removes 99.99% of harmful bacteria and protozoa.

The filter has a mouthpiece on one side and a thread on the other, so it can be attached to bottles and hydration systems. The device weighs just 57 g and fits easily into a jacket or trouser pocket. It lets you drink water straight from a reservoir or stream (a straw is included), it can be attached to a standard PET bottle (via the thread) or to a squeeze pouch (included), and it is also compatible with hydration bladders. This allows you to draw water from various sources, transfer it and collect it in another container.

Inside the filter is a U-shaped network of microchannels that traps particles and impurities larger than 0.1 micron (micrometre). For comparison, coliform bacteria are around 0.8 micron in size. Thanks to this advanced and thorough filtration, the Sawyer Mini blocks bacteria and protozoa dangerous to human health, including E. Coli, Giardia (intestines), Vibrio Cholerae (cholera) and Salmonella Typhi (salmonella).

The capillary membrane does not retain heavy metals, sulphur, iron or viruses, which require the use of appropriate chemical agents.

The filter is extremely durable and easy to clean. The declared filter capacity is up to 378,541 litres of water. So by purifying up to 10 litres of water a day, the filter will last 100 years - a device that works for a lifetime.

After some time the water flow through the filter may slow, a sign that a lot of dirt has built up and it needs maintenance. Cleaning the filter is very simple: just use the supplied syringe to push clean water back through the mouthpiece several times. This flushes out the accumulated sediment and restores the membrane's performance. Proper use and regular cleaning ensure up to 98.5% efficiency.

The filter works mechanically and requires no additional chemicals. Its performance is practically unlimited, so once bought it will serve you for a lifetime.

Because of the channelled membrane structure, the filter must not be allowed to freeze in winter conditions, as this can cause irreversible damage.
