Lens categories

Lenses are divided into categories according to light transmission. All Zeiss lenses protect the eyes from UVA and UVB radiation up to 400 nm wavelengths. The VLT value indicates how much light passes through the lenses.

Category 3 - transmits 8-18% of light. Excellent in bright sunlight. Colors are reproduced naturally. For example, for road, gravel and mountain biking, mountains, snow conditions and at sea.

Category 2 - transmits 18-43% of light. All-purpose lenses for sunny and changing weather. Eliminates blue and violet light. Improves depth perception and contrast, and works very well in fast sports and situations where you need to judge distances. For example, road and mountain biking, skiing, golf.

Category 1 - transmits 43-80% of light. Glasses for cloudy or rainy days. Excellent in autumn and winter, when there is little light but it comes from a disturbing direction. They protect the eyes and help you see variations in terrain as well as contrasts of light and shadow that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
