Lightweight, durable design

TheTaidea TY1805 is an excellent addition to the EDC kit of any outdoor and survival enthusiast. The sharpener has a compact size, lightweight polymer construction, and a practical steel clip that allows you to attach it to your backpack, keys or gear.

The hiking character is also emphasized by the contrasting black and orange color scheme, which makes it easy to quickly locate the sharpener among other equipment or vegetation.

Three sharpening zones

Despite its small size, the sharpener has as many as 3 sharpening zones:

• a conical diamond rod for sharpening serrated blades,
• ceramic V-sharpener for fast sharpening and polishing
• atungsten carbide V-sharpener for grinding severely dulled cutting edges.

It is worth remembering that carbide picks up steel very aggressively, so when sharpening, do not press the knife, gentle strokes using the weight of the tool itself will suffice.

Sharpening with V-shaped whetstones is extremely easy and requires no experience, you onlyneed to pull the blade through the sharpening slot a few times until satisfactory sharpness is achieved.

Such functionality makes the Taidea TY1805 an excellent choice for those looking for a simple and efficient sharpener for field knives.
