The Fenix BC30 V2.0 is a reliable bike light in a new, upgraded version, featuring a more powerful 2200-lumen output, a convenient wireless switch, and a smaller, lighter design.

The Fenix BC30 V2.0 combines the functionality of the first-generation model with numerous new improvements that enhance functionality, extend runtime, and increase comfort.

Construction

The compact body of the light is made of anodized aluminum alloy, which effectively dissipates heat and protects against mechanical damage, rain, and dust (IP67 rating).

Due to its smaller size, lighter weight, and quick-release function from the mount, the Fenix BC30 V2.0 can also be used as a regular handheld flashlight.

The bike mount mentioned uses a quick-release function. To remove the light, simply press the locking lever and pull the light out of the mount. The light can also be attached to a cyclist's helmet.

Special optical system

The Fenix BC30 V2.0 uses two LUMINUS SST-40-N5 LEDs, which emit a maximum output of 2200 lumens, with an effective range of up to 187 m.

This impressive light output ensures excellent visibility of the road in urban conditions and allows for safe movement off-road in unlit areas.

The emitted light is neutral white in color, is easy on the eyes, ensures accurate color rendering, and allows more details to be recognized under night-vision conditions.

Unlike standard bike lights, the optical system is designed so as not to blind other road users.

The specially designed Dual Distance Beam system features an innovative diffuser that illuminates the road ahead of the wheel more strongly while diffusing the upper part of the light beam. As a result, the beam effectively illuminates the road up to handlebar height without blinding drivers or pedestrians.

The light beam is 85° wide, which ensures excellent visibility both in the city and beyond, allowing for a quick reaction to hazards.

Wireless switch

What sets the Fenix BC30 V2.0 apart from the first-generation model is the radio switch, which greatly simplifies control of the light.

The smart switch has two buttons for changing brightness and activating turbo mode. The ability to place it within easy reach of the fingers and its high responsiveness add to comfort and safety.

Whether the light is mounted on the handlebars or on a cyclist's helmet (an additional adapter is required), the switch makes it easy to change modes.

Operating modes

The Fenix BC30 V2.0 has 5 continuous lighting modes: eco/edc→low→medium→high→turbo, and two flashing modes.

This functionality allows you to adapt the lighting to road conditions and efficiently manage the remaining battery power. Simple and intuitive control is a clear advantage for every cyclist, especially in urban conditions with heavy traffic.

Power supply

The light is powered by 2 rechargeable 18650 batteries (not included), which can also be replaced with 4 disposable CR123 batteries. Total runtime depends on the brightness mode used, battery capacity, and weather conditions.

According to the manufacturer, two Fenix ARB-L18-3500 rechargeable batteries provide 150 minutes of runtime in high mode, or almost 2.5 days of lighting in eco/edc economy mode.

Battery charge indicator

Thanks to the battery charge level indicator function (an LED on the main illuminated switch) and the low-voltage warning, you can monitor the light's operation and manage the remaining power reserve. When the light is turned on, the indicator shows the battery status for 3 seconds.

Battery charge level guide:

• green LED lit: 100-80%,
• orange LED lit: 80-40%,
• red LED lit: 40-10%,
• red LED flashing: 10-0%.

Additional features

The Fenix BC30 V2.0 has an IP67 rating, meaning it is fully resistant to dust, rain, snow, a fall from 1 meter (onto a wooden surface), and complete submersion in water to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.

The light also remembers the last brightness level used (memory function), so when turned off and back on it will light up in the same mode.

The low battery warning triggers automatically when the set voltage level drops (flashing battery level indicator). In turbo mode, thermal protection is activated to prevent the driver from overheating.

Handlebar mount

The package includes a sturdy bike handlebar mount and two spacers that prevent the light from rotating and allow it to be adapted to the handlebar size. Installation is very simple and only requires tightening one steel screw.
