A logical number game that may bring to mind well-known board and card games. It is intended for children from 3 years of age, but it also works great as a family game and as entertainment for adults. To win, you need to be good at counting and adapt to the changing situation.

Rules of the Rummy number game

The rules are clear - 2-4 players take part and blindly draw 14 tiles. They then arrange them on their rack so that opponents cannot see their values. The drawn player begins, and the order of moves follows clockwise. The game consists of 106 tiles with numbers 1-13 in 4 colors (black, blue, yellow and red). The pool also includes 2 jokers, which replace any tile.

The aim of the game is to lay number sequences on the table in the form of groups and runs. A group is at least 3 tiles with the same number in different colors. A run is at least 3 tiles of the same color with consecutive numbers. If a player cannot or does not want to lay a sequence on a given turn, they must take 1 additional tile from the pool. The time for a move is limited to 2 minutes.

The first meld can only take place when the sum of its numbers is at least 30. Further sequences can be added to those already on the table. Play continues until a player lays out all the tiles from their rack. However, if the situation is a stalemate and no one has any moves left, players count points by adding all the numbers remaining on their racks. A joker counts as 100 points. The sum of tiles is negative points - whoever has the fewest wins.

A logic game - if you can count, count on yourself

The game develops logical thinking and the ability to count quickly. When playing with children, you can adjust the rules to their age and make the game easier, e.g. by not limiting the time for a move or writing number sequences on a sheet of paper, which helps little ones find runs. The game will be learning mathematics through play, but it will also teach the youngest competition and self-control.
