THE WORLD'S BEST CARBON FIBER CUE SHAFT
The relationship between a player and their cue is built through feedback. It is made up of thousands of tiny details, all interpreted by the player's senses: the sound of the strike, the depth and sight line on every practice stroke, the diameter and smoothness of the bridge as the shaft glides through it, and the slight vibrations the player feels in the hand when the tip makes contact. Each of these interactions forges the relationship and builds trust between the player and the cue. With these factors in mind, Cuetec set out to develop the all-new line of Cynergy carbon fiber composite cue shafts.
"If I can't feel it, I can't use it" was one of the first things five-time U.S. Open 9-Ball champion Shane Van Boening said when we began talking about the development of Cynergy. Shane was right. Over the past decade the focus has been placed on percentages and equations to reduce deflection, while feel and the transfer of information to the player were neglected.
Taking Shane's words into account, Cuetec engineers began developing a unique solution that harnesses the benefits of advanced carbon fiber manufacturing technology without compromising the feedback and touch that players have long associated with maple shafts. We are proud to say that after more than a year of testing countless prototypes, the fruits of this work arrived in the Cynergy 12.5, 11.8 and 10.5 shafts - shafts designed to enhance the connection between the player and the cue, with the added benefits of carbon fiber technology.
"After more than a decade of playing and winning at the highest level with Cuetec equipment, I can honestly say that the Cynergy 12.5 is the most complete shaft I have ever played with." - Shane Van Boening, Team Captain of the Cuetec Professional Players
SUPERIOR CONSTRUCTION
MULTI-DIRECTIONAL CARBON FIBER
Cuetec's Cynergy carbon fiber shafts are made from multiple layers of industrial-grade, resin-impregnated unidirectional carbon fiber filaments. Each filament is 7 um (0.007 mm) in diameter, about one twelfth of a human hair. The orientation of these carbon fiber filaments is crucial to achieving optimal durability, strength and performance. During the heat-curing process each of these specially oriented filaments works together to ensure there is no net shift. The result is a perfectly straight and ultra-strong cue shaft.
POLYURETHANE FOAM CORE
At the heart of every Cynergy carbon fiber cue shaft is its ultra-high-density polyurethane foam core. This Cuetec-proprietary poly foam core gives the shaft stability, allows the prescribed flex and produces a wood-like sound on contact with improved feel and feedback.
ULTRA-LIGHT FRONT-END CONSTRUCTION
Less weight means less deflection. Every Cynergy cue shaft benefits from its ultra-strong carbon fiber composite construction and features Cuetec's ultra-light front-end construction. This allows the Cynergy poly foam to stop 10 cm before the tip, creating a rigid cavity with less mass and therefore less deflection on contact.
PRECISION TAPER CONSTRUCTION
Every Cuetec Cynergy shaft is designed to deliver the most comfortable playing experience and features a unique performance-oriented taper construction. Both the Cynergy 12.5 and 11.8 feature super-straight taper constructions with virtually zero rise, allowing a smoother and more precise hit regardless of the player's size. In contrast, the Cynergy 10.5 features a hybrid conical taper construction that provides increased stiffness and power for other cue sports such as snooker and Chinese 8-Ball.
THIN WHITE SIGHTING FERRULE
At just 0.63 cm long, the lightweight thin white ferrule on every Cynergy shaft not only aids sighting contrast and depth perception, but also provides a more familiar and stable platform for maintaining and replacing the tip over the shaft's lifetime.
LAMINATED TIGER® SNIPER TIP
Because of its powerful, neutral hit attributes, every Cynergy shaft is fitted with a laminated Tiger® Sniper tip. Each Sniper tip is naturally cured for more than a year using a unique vacuum-lamination process and is carefully sanded. This ensures that air is eliminated between the ten layers of the tip.
CYNERGY CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Preserving the coating of the Cuetec Cynergy shaft.
Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shafts must never be sanded or modified. Using abrasives on the surface of the shaft damages and may weaken the carbon fiber filaments and can release potentially harmful materials that could damage your health. Any polishing, sanding or treating of the surface with abrasives or chemicals of any kind will void the warranty.
Never use baby powder, hand chalk, talcum powder or other treatments on a Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shaft.
To clean the surface of a Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shaft you only need isopropyl alcohol (75% or higher) and two (2) clean, dirt-free soft cloths.
Step 1. Remove dust and dirt by wiping the shaft with a soft, clean cloth.
Step 2. Apply an appropriate amount of isopropyl alcohol (at least 75%) to a clean, soft cloth. Then wipe the cloth up and down along the length of the shaft while rotating it with your hand. Dirt may become visible on the cloth. This is completely normal. Continue the motion until all areas are thoroughly wiped, then let the surface dry for a few moments.
Changing the tip on your Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shaft.
The Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shafts feature a lightweight white ferrule. This allows easier replacement of the tip over the shaft's lifetime. When changing the tip it is important to clean and re-smooth the ferrule. The minimum height of the ferrule must be greater than 1 mm to maintain the shaft's warranty coverage.
* Always use a recognised and proven cue smith. Never allow a cue smith to sand or alter the surface of the shaft when installing a new tip.
Replacing the ferrule on your Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shaft.
Should the ferrule ever need to be replaced, which is very unlikely, this must be carried out by an authorised Cuetec Cynergy repair centre. This is required due to the complexity of the binders used and to ensure that the carbon fiber filaments are not damaged. To find an authorised repair centre near you, contact [email protected].
Warping
Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shafts carry a limited lifetime warranty against warping.
Misuse
Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shafts are not designed to withstand significant lateral pressure. They should never be excessively bent, struck against other objects or treated with any abrasives, whether solid or liquid.
Shaft diameter
Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shaft diameters should never be modified. Any polishing or sanding treatment could endanger the ultra-thin layers of carbon fiber filaments and will immediately void the warranty of the Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber shaft.

About Cuetec

Cuetec Cues burst onto the scene in 1989 as a new concept in billiard cues. The basic premise being a cue, using a patented process, with a Grade A Plus North American Maple shaft coated with a thin layer of fiberglass or graphite that stayed straight despite all adverse conditions, was extremely damage resistant against the rigors of all types of play, was easy to maintain, and most importantly offered true professional quality and playability at prices just about anyone could afford.
